The 7th edition of the 4 day Federation of Rajasthan Handicraft Exporters (FORHEX) Fair 2015 was inaugurated yesterday at the Birla Auditorium in Jaipur.  There are as many as 80 stalls at the fair with special focus on the products made out of recycled and sustainable material.


The handicraft sector continues to be a major generator for employment.  Fairs like FORHEX give a further fillip to the local craftsperson since the products that were exclusively made for exports are now available in the local market. With the increase in quantity of products, there is a natural rise in the employment for craftspersons.

FORHEX has become an important platform for the handicrafts, which are generally exported, to be showcased for the local markets. This has facilitated the local traders, emporiums, outlets to source the products. The items which were export oriented can now become available for the local populace.

FORHEX today is playing a pioneering role in bringing about the upliftment of the artisans and craft persons by providing an equivalent market platform for growth and upgrading their skills.

The FORHEX fair is on till 16 August. One can visit anytime between 10 am to 8 pm.
