Don’t miss this children’s lit fest in Jaipur| Bookaroo

Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) is all set to present the 3rd edition of ‘Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival’ on 12 and 13 January. As many as 27 authors, illustrators, storytellers and performers from 12 cities will delight children and parents alike in Jaipur. Not only this, but the festival will also showcase 51 sessions for children between 4 to 14 years and feature storytelling, workshops, drama, art & craft and books. The event will be held on both days from 11 am to 4.30 pm.

As a part of this year’s celebrationsBookaroo will also present ‘Bookart’ – an exhibition of original artwork from children’s books. These artworks will be on display until 13 January.

As in the past years, there will also be an outreach programme on 11 January. The speakers for the festival will visit select schools and institutions – both underserved and regular – across Jaipur and hold sessions as a precursor to the festival.

Other highlights of Bookaroo will include –storytelling, sessions focusing on climate change and ‘Scrollathon’ to make the longest scroll of some of Rajasthan’s well-loved stories. Similarly, there will also be circus clown performance and puppetry.

The speakers for the festival will include – Archana Garodia Gupta, Asha Nehemiah, Bijal Vachharajani, Dr Laique Hussain, Chetan Sharma, Cordis Paldano, Durgabai Vyam, Jeeva Raghunath, Kapil Pandey, Nalini Sorensen, Neetu Sharma, Pallavi Singh, Proiti Roy, Reshma K. Barshikar, Roshni Vyam, Shalini Tayal, Shruti Garodia, Shubham Lakhera, Soumitra Ranade, Subhash Vyam, Swagata Sen Pillai, Vagmi Raghava, Vaishali Shroff, Vandana Bist, Chandana Dutta and Vranda Rathi.
