Meet Neha Baheti, a woman who defies the norm with her singular dedication to perfecting one delicacy: Tiramisu. Let’s know more about The Boozy Tiramisu.
A PR and Branding professional by profession, Neha’s journey into the realm of gourmet desserts was an unexpected pivot catalyzed by the peculiar circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic. Encouraged by the praise of friends for her rendition of Tiramisu, in 2021 she decided to transform her passion into a venture, christening it ‘The Boozy Tiramisu’.
Reflecting on the genesis of her venture, Neha explains, “The Tiramisu available in Jaipur often lacks the quintessential alcohol integral to its recipe. Moreover, it tends to be excessively laden with cream.” Determined to rectify this culinary injustice, Neha set out to craft Tiramisu according to her own exacting standards. Central to her culinary alchemy is the homemade cheese derived from A2 milk sourced from her family farm, lending a distinct richness to her creations.
In a refreshing departure from conventional marketing strategies, Neha steered clear of elaborate branding exercises, relying instead on the power of word-of-mouth within the close-knit community of Jaipur. “In a city like Jaipur, the quality of your product speaks volumes. If your product is good, the word about it will spread and it will do well,” Neha reflects on the unique dynamics of running a small-scale enterprise in the Pink City.
Neha’s commitment to specialization remains steadfast, with Tiramisu remaining the sole focus of her culinary repertoire. However, owing to the dietary preferences of Jaipur’s populace, she found it necessary to incorporate alcohol-free and eggless options into her offerings. For her regular clients who might want some variation in the tiramisu, there are options like pistachio, chocolate, strawberry and mango tiramisu. However, it is the classic rendition that reigns supreme.
Speaking of trends, Neha has been at the forefront of introducing Tiramisu cakes for celebratory occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and bridal showers. “Traditionally, Tiramisu is served in a dish. However, alongside traditional servings, I also offer cakes and jars. Initially, Tiramisu wasn’t perceived as a cake option, but this trend has now gained significant traction in Jaipur,” Neha notes, reflecting on her role in popularizing this innovative twist on the classic dessert.
