Monuments & Museums to open from June 1 in Rajasthan

In order to promote tourism and encourage tourism related businesses and stakeholders, the Department of Archaeology and Museums on Friday issued guidelines to reopen the monuments and museums from 1 June.

As per the Government guidelines, to curb the spread of COVID-19, monuments and museums were closed from visitors from 18 March.

As per the issued guidelines in the first week, the monuments will be open from 9 am to 2 pm, 4 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday). In the second week, these landmarks will be open the same days in the week. However, timings will be from 9 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm. These first two weeks entry for Indian and foreign tourists will be free of cost.

From the third week onwards, the monuments and museums will  open on all days from 9 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm. From third week onwards, 50% discount will be given on tickets for Indian and foreign tourists.

During the afternoon interval, all staff and workers will work on sanitising and cleaning the tourist sites. Apart from this, tourists and staff will  also undergo thermal screening and sanitisation of hands. Tourists will not be allowed to enter without masks. They must also maintain social distancing at all times during their visit.

All officials of these tourists sites have been given directions to follow all guidelines and precautions strictly. For curfew and containment zones guidelines issued by the local administration and the State Government will be strictly adhered to.
