Mothers and Children Bond over Cookery in ‘Mommy & Me’ Workshop

A unique and fun-filled cooking workshop called‘Mommy & Me’ was held today in Jaipur. Around 20 mothers and their children aged between 6 to 12 years participated in the workshop and learned to cook a three course meal along with beverages from Masterchef India semifinalist, Parul Khaitan. After the cooking lesson, the participants were also taught how to lay the table and basic table etiquettes. The event was an initiative of Salt Food Festival in association with Gyanjee Caterers.

Some of the dishes which were taught to the participants included Spinach Olive Open Sandwich, Italian Papri Chat, Kumpir, Caramelized Onion on Puff Pastry, Pina Colada and Orange Souffle, among others. The recipes prepared by the mommy-child duo were fun and kids friendly. Most of them were also professional like Veena Azmanov recipes. The course aimed at encouraging the children prepare an entire meal at home from drinks to desserts with little help from their elders. Not only this, the unique experience helped created a strong bond between the mother and child over cooking and enhance their relationship with their child.

About Salt Food Fest

Salt-the pink city food fest is a 2 day event which will be held on 20 and 21 October at Clarks Amer. The fest will feature alluring workshops by celebrity chefs, pop ups by food giants from around the country and market by home chefs, entertainment nights, among others. The festival has been organized in association with Gyanjee caterers.
